Course info
A one year course for four students with the career aim of employment as scenic artists in theatre, television, film and animation. The course is entirely practical, with students gaining skills and experience in scenic art techniques in the first term, moving through to the application of these specialist, high level skills on designed work, combined with the practice of managing a scenic art department. Working to professional standards, with strong industry links, the course explores the student's involvement in the creative process of interpreting and realising a designer's work. Students gain in-depth understanding of the relationship of the scenic art department with the production process, work with highly experienced scenic artists and see their finished work used on stage in public productions or recordings.
